Fall is finally here! At least recording to the calendar. Although it’s still too warm to break out the sweaters and pumpkin flavored everything, it is going to cool down eventually. Here are 10 recipes to welcome fall into your kitchen and ease up the transition from summer into the deep of fall.
Did you notice? The days are already getting shorter and it stays dark longer in the morning. I really need a good reason to wake up, get in the zone and get moving. Let’s beat those dark mornings with tropical Bircher muesli. I love to soak oatmeal in orange juice and add mango and kiwi to make breakfast a bit exotic.
Great meal to warm the house! This is a classic Sunday supper recipe, easy enough for a weeknight. Dinner is going to be delicious!!
This savory pie comes with a crust made from grated potatoes, the recipe is basically for Reibekuchen (potato fritter). It is an easy recipe and leftovers are great for office lunch and wait for you in the fridge to be warmed up for a fast dinner.
This tea is great hot or cold. The citrusy spice of the ginger and the tropical pineapple mesh together to create a healthy, soothing and refreshing tea that has a nice spicy ginger bite to it. Ginger’s superpower is the ability to warm you up from the inside and stimulate cold hands and feet. It is also great for avoiding colds and making you feel better faster.
You bet a sugar high is a great cure again rainy weather blues. You might wanna bookmark this one for later!
..a.k.a. comfort in a bowl. This is my mom’s famous recipe for a creamy and cheesy spinach soup with pasta (well I added the noodles).
There is only so much banana bread I can handle until I need a break from it. If you are like me and you are looking for something for your lunch box, non-dripping and not crumbling. A snack to pull out of your bag, if hunger attacks you. You need this maple cranberry bread! This recipe is also great for everyone who can’t have eggs, butter, and nuts.
I eat salad (like a lot) during those hot summer days but mostly because that’s the best you can do while melting in the heat. Salad becomes really interesting again when temperatures are cooling down and we can add some “real” food like smoked trout (not that cucumbers are not real, but you know…).
I know it says summer cocktail but there is nothing wrong with ginger beer, vermouth, and bourbon when all hell breaks loose on a fall night. If vermouth is not your thang, check out this recipe for appled dark ‘n’ stormy. You can say I am really into ginger beer these days.
Still one of my favorite recipe, especially with homemade applesauce – it’s to die for! Although I used some yogurt and a bit less mascarpone cheese it’s not really a healthy and lean dessert but none really good ones are. However soon we can hide under a big sweater at least until January.
